I always heard that Paris was the Capital of Fashion. I grew up and lived in Paris for many years so I am a Parisian. Then I moved to New York, and lived there for more than 10 years, so I am a New Yorker. And I heard that New York was the Capital of Fashion too. Hum…. How can I tell you my thoughts without hurting anyone’s feelings?

Where is the World Capital of Fashion? Paris or New York?

I always struggled with American fashion. Yes, American fashion is the champion in Streetwear style. But that’s it. Paris🥐🥖 is definitely the world capital of Fashion👗. Look at the luxury brand : Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Dior, Cartier, Hermes…. And let me tell you about the other French 🟦⬜🟥 non-luxury brands that you can find here in New York🗽, and I’ll finish with brands that you can’t find here yet and they make me feel miserable!

Non Luxury French fashion designers in New York or with delivery to the US:

They are not luxury brands but they are not cheap in EURO, and then they are not cheap at all in DOLLARS💲💲💲. But, there are always sales and very often in the US. So I never buy a piece of clothes full price from those brands and I patiently wait for the next sale or go to the outlet mall – the best is Woodbury Commons Outlet in NY State – to buy last year collection that is still trendy!
