Are your looking for a day trip in the nature from NYC? Are you looking for an alternative to the legendary apple picking when you kids are pre-teens or teens? I found the perfect destination for you: King Storm Art Center. This is the ideal gateway to mix Art with Nature.

We visited King Storm on a flawless day in October when the fall foliage was almost at peak and the weather was sunny and quite warm for the season. I was impressed by the tall trees which were simply majestic with various colors of green, yellow, orange and red. And we felt humble in front of spectacular sculptures of multiple colors like red, orange, green or white.

We didn’t get a chance to view all sculptures as the park is huge, even though we spent about 2 hours on site. But we did walked slowly, as ,some of you may know,t my sciatica is back and my hubby’s ankle is not performing at his best either …. What a nice old couple we make and we are not even 50!

Anyway, we plan to come back in the spring, the second most popular season to visit the Art Center after the fall season. Beware! During peak seasons, you may ewperience long queues to access the site but don’t hesitate to book the overflow parking which we did: it is a few miles away but buses run every 10 minutes back and forth between the overflow parking and the Art Center.
